Hello. My name is Lorrie Frear.
I am a designer and calligrapher/lettering artist. My interests are diverse, and my work is eclectic. It ranges from graphic simplicity to expressive playfulness. I create work for myself, friends, colleagues, clients, competitions, commissions, exhibitions and collaborations. At first, it may seem as though there is no thread connecting all of this work conceptually or visually, but I hope that my love of letters and words is evident as the unifying element in all of the work.
I am also a teacher of graphic design, calligraphy and typography. As an Associate Professor at Rochester Institute of Technology, I have the best job in the world of sharing my love of letters, words and design in all forms with the next generations of designers and visual communicators.
Examples of student work can be found on my profile page on the RIT/CIAS website. Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my site.
